Eva Longoria Parker wants to do reality show about her Beso restaurant

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker already has TV success, but she apparently wants her restaurant chain Beso to be a part of it.

The actress has spoken about the launch of a new reality show project, revolving around her restaurant. Beso, which has locations in both Las Vegas and Hollywood, serves up glamorous cocktails and exciting Latin-infused food under the watchful eye of celebrity chef Todd English. There is also an exclusive nightclub attached.

Eva has described the concept of the show, saying:

“It will follow the employees that work at my restaurant,”

“I’m not in it that much. I’m married and old now.”

The best pie pub in London?

Having personally experienced the fantastic pie offerings at The Crown Pub in Soho (situated on Brewer Street), I believe that it will be tough to find another place in London that’s as good. If anyone reading this can offer up a competitor, I’d be delighted to hear it.

The reason I think The Crown puts up such a good fight for the unofficial title of ‘Best Pie Pub in London’ is that they are a speciality establishment. Everything you could ever want from a pie is there – soft, buttery pastry, rich, meaty gravy, plenty of filling and some cheesy mash and vibrant green veg on the side; – and there’s even lots of veggie options. Some of the pies even had turrets!

With reasonable prices and a cosy, down-to-earth pub atmosphere (despite being right in the middle of trendy Soho), The Crown Pub is a must-visit for any pie fanciers in the area.

Sinatra, Barcelona

On a trip to Barcelona a couple of years ago, myself and my travelling companions for some reason struggled to find somewhere to eat one evening. A place we all agreed on that is. Tired of the dithering, a couple of us popped in to trendy-looking restaurant Sinatra, in the centre of Barcelona off of Plaza Reial.

After a tiny wait and a drink in the lounge/bar section, we were seated upstairs. I can’t remember exactly what we had (being a number of years ago now), but it was fairly fine dining for such a cosy, casual place. They also change the menu frequently I believe, to keep things fresh for regular customers.

Courses were light, tasty yet plentiful in number, the service was friendly and unpretentious and the price was unbelievable – more than three delicious courses and a bottle wine later and we were only down about £20 each!

Simply put, Sinatra is a must-visit for anyone planning a trip to Barcelona this summer.

Bawadi: the hidden Lebanese gem of Manchester City Centre

Manchester does pretty well when it comes to fine cuisine; there are some fabulous restaurants in the city centre. An undiscovered gem – which I am fairly reluctant to tell you about lest it becomes too popular – is Bawadi, a Lebanese cafe and restaurant on Cheetham Hill Road within spitting distance of the Green Quarter.

You will love Bawadi if you like:

• Greek and Mediterranean food
• Yummy comfort food
• A homely, family-run atmosphere
• Cheapness!

The whole dining experience in Bawadi is relaxed and friendly. You bring your own wine (a lot cheaper than paying a fortune for a bottle of chateau ‘I-don’t-know-what-this-is-but-it-tastes-like-wine’ in a standard restaurant) and you can really take your time over the delicious tapas-style food.
