Bawadi: the hidden Lebanese gem of Manchester City Centre

Manchester does pretty well when it comes to fine cuisine; there are some fabulous restaurants in the city centre. An undiscovered gem – which I am fairly reluctant to tell you about lest it becomes too popular – is Bawadi, a Lebanese cafe and restaurant on Cheetham Hill Road within spitting distance of the Green Quarter.

You will love Bawadi if you like:

• Greek and Mediterranean food
• Yummy comfort food
• A homely, family-run atmosphere
• Cheapness!

The whole dining experience in Bawadi is relaxed and friendly. You bring your own wine (a lot cheaper than paying a fortune for a bottle of chateau ‘I-don’t-know-what-this-is-but-it-tastes-like-wine’ in a standard restaurant) and you can really take your time over the delicious tapas-style food.
